Safety Disposal of Rice Straw by Biodegradation Using Streptomyces Tendae

نویسندگان

چکیده

Rice straw is a byproduct formed during rice cultivation. Disposal of may happen via unhygienic methods such as burning, which happening in Malaysia and other countries. This study aims to rid an eco-friendly biodegradation technique. Biodegradation depended on actinobacteria, were isolated from the cultivated soil rhizosphere areas Tabuk region. Out thirty actinobacterial isolates, only three isolates (S-5, S-12, S-20) biodegraded starch, cellulose, lignin powder. The most potent isolate (S-5) was identified Streptomyces tendae, effectively all polysaccharides straw. associated with significant reduction C/N ratio, where latter fell 30.4% 17.2% within 42 d.

Impact of 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost application on N mineralization and N uptake by rice

Incorporation of plant residues in soil affects N and C content and dynamics. This studydetermined the effects of short-term alternative rice (Oryza sativa L.) residue management on Nmineralization and uptake by rice. Pot and laboratory incubation experiments were established byincorporating 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost in paddy soil. The 15N recovered by riceaveraged 16.6%; mo...

Secretion of Streptomyces tendae antifungal protein 1 by Lactococcus lactis.

Lactococcus lactis, the model lactic acid bacterium, is a good candidate for heterologous protein production in both foodstuffs and the digestive tract. We attempted to produce Streptomyces tendae antifungal protein 1 (Afp1) in L. lactis with the objective of constructing a strain able to limit fungal growth. Since Afp1 activity requires disulfide bond (DSB) formation and since intracellular re...

Products of Wheat Straw Biodegradation by Cyathus stercoreus

The residual biodegradation products of wheat straw lignin attacked by Cyathus stercoreus for thirty days were identified. Low-molecualr-weight nonvolatile materials constituted less than 5% of the total 14C released from labeled lignin. In this portion, syringic acid, vanillic acid, p-hydroxy benzoic acid, acetic acid, and 2-methoxy-succinic acid were found. The majority of the water-soluble b...

Application of Rice-Straw Biochar and Microorganisms in Nonylphenol Remediation: Adsorption-Biodegradation Coupling Relationship and Mechanism

Biochar adsorption presents a potential remediation method for the control of hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs) pollution in the environment. It has been found that HOCs bound on biochar become less bioavailable, so speculations have been proposed that HOCs will persist for longer half-life periods in biochar-amended soil/sediment. To investigate how biochar application affects coupled adsor...
